Why does the local "humane group" with the most entrenched attitudes AGAINST felines have a photo of a cat as the leader's FaceBook profile picture?
Well, if I'm cynical, I think it is in order to affiliate herself with a sweet animal, in order to garner some of that animal's appeal. I'd even say that years ago when the organization splashed a photo of a burn victim cat across the new web page it launched, that was in order to garner donations from 'cat people' -- that is, from people who would reasonably expect their donations would go toward the care and rehabilitation of that cat. Or at least toward helping cats like that poor cat.
Why do we allow people to exploit animals, year after year? Why would we do that in the name of humane work?
