Number ONE cause of death of Cats in the US: Shelters

Senseless, illogical and unenforceable ordinances that push more cats into impound facilities (aka "shelters") cause 60 to 70 percent of the deaths of cats today.

Cat lovers certainly need to care about that.

But people that are indifferent to, or those who dislike, cats, also should be worried. That's because purposely looking for cats to catch and then destroy in shelters, costs us money. And money IS an issue today, for most localities. Catch-and-kill, as this approach has been referred to, also demoralizes animal control workers, who joined the workforce in many cases in order to help animals, but find themselves part of a killing machine.

We MUST work to change this.
